Salon Software with Deposits & No-Show Fees

Take a deposit when clients book, set a cancellation window, and charge no-show fees to the card on file. Zivly adds sales tax to every fee, and clients see any late-cancel fee before they cancel.

How a no-show fee is calculated

When you mark a booking as a no-show, Zivly works out the fee in four steps. The same engine produces the preview you see and the amount charged, so they never differ.

  1. 1. Fee base. Your policy's fixed amount, or your percentage of the service subtotal.
  2. 2. Sales tax. Tax is added based on your location's province, for example 13% HST in Ontario.
  3. 3. Deposit credit. Any deposit the client already paid is subtracted.
  4. 4. You choose. Charge the card on file, record a manual payment, or keep the deposit. Every outcome is saved on the booking.

Your policy is locked in on every booking

Zivly saves a snapshot of your payment policy on each booking when it's made. If you tighten your rules later, existing bookings still use the terms the client agreed to, which keeps disputes and chargebacks simpler.

Frequently asked questions

Can Zivly take a deposit when a client books?

Yes. You can require a deposit at booking as a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of the service price, or the full price. The deposit is capped at the booking total after discounts, and it is applied toward the final bill.

How do no-show fees work in Zivly?

When you mark a booking as a no-show, Zivly calculates the fee from your policy (a fixed amount or a percentage of the service) plus sales tax for your province, subtracts any deposit already paid, and lets you charge the card on file, record a manual payment, or keep the deposit.

Can clients see the cancellation fee before they cancel?

Yes. When a client cancels a booking themselves, Zivly shows them a preview of any late-cancellation fee first, calculated by the same engine that charges the card, so the amount they see is the amount they pay.

If I change my policy, does it affect existing bookings?

No. Zivly saves a snapshot of your payment policy on each booking when it is made, so fees are always calculated using the rules the client agreed to at the time of booking.
