Finding good talent is one of the hardest parts of running a salon or barbershop. You post on Instagram, ask around, maybe throw something on Indeed — and then you're managing messages across five different places, losing track of who applied, and spending your evenings sorting through DMs instead of running your business.
We built something to fix that. Zivly now has built-in job postings — and as far as we know, we're the first salon and barbershop management platform to include this natively. No integrations, no third-party tools, no extra cost.
What the Job Postings Feature Does
The Jobs feature lets you create a fully customized job listing directly in your Zivly dashboard. You set the details — role title, employment type (full time, part time, contract), location, pay range, weekly hours, required skills, application deadline, and a custom job description written in your own voice.
Once published, you get a public share link that goes live immediately. Share it anywhere: your Instagram bio, a WhatsApp status, a Google Business post, or your website. Candidates click the link, see your listing, and submit their application — including their resume or CV — through a clean, professional application page.
Every application lands directly in your Zivly dashboard under that job listing. You see who applied, when they applied, and their full submission including CV — all in one organized inbox.
Why We Built This (And Why It Matters)
The hiring process for independent salons and barbershops is genuinely broken. Here's what it typically looks like:
- Post a "hiring" story on Instagram
- Get DMs from 20 people, half of whom never follow up
- Try to remember who sent their portfolio vs. who just said they're "interested"
- Post on Indeed, get flooded by applicants who have never held scissors in their life
- Manage everything in your head or a notes app
The result? Good candidates slip through, and the whole process takes ten times longer than it should. And most booking software — even the expensive ones — doesn't touch hiring at all. You manage bookings in your software and hiring in your DMs. It's messy.
We wanted to change that. If Zivly is the platform you use to run your business day-to-day, it should also be where you hire the people who help you run it.
How It Works — Step by Step
1. Create your job listing
In your Zivly dashboard, go to Jobs and create a new listing. Fill in the role details: title, employment type, your location, pay range, weekly hours, and deadline. Add the skills you're looking for — Balayage, Haircuts, Hair Coloring, Waxing, Fades, Nail Art, Lash Extensions, whatever applies to the role. Then write your job description in your own words.
2. Publish and share
Hit publish and your listing goes live on a public URL tied to your business profile on Zivly. Copy the link and share it anywhere candidates might see it. The page is clean and professional — it shows your business name, the role details, required skills, and the application form.
3. Applicants apply with their CV
Candidates fill out the application directly on that page and upload their resume or CV. No account required for them, no friction. They apply in under two minutes.
4. Track everything in your dashboard
Every application shows up in your Jobs inbox. You can see each applicant's name, when they applied, and their full CV submission. New applications are flagged so nothing gets missed. You can mark applications as reviewed as you go through them, keeping your inbox organized without any external tools.
5. Close the listing when you're done
Found the right person? Mark the listing as closed. The public page updates automatically — no more applications coming in after you've made your hire, no awkward "we already filled this role" messages to send.
What You Can Customize
Every business hires differently, so we made the job listing fully flexible. Here's everything you can set:
- Job title — whatever makes sense for your role (Hair Stylist, Senior Barber, Nail Technician, Esthetician, etc.)
- Employment type — full time, part time, or contract/booth rental
- Location — tied to your business location in Zivly
- Pay range — hourly, salary, or commission-based
- Weekly hours — so candidates know what they're signing up for
- Application deadline — auto-closes the listing when the date passes
- Required skills — tag the specific services the role requires
- Job description — fully freeform, write it however you want
The public page reflects everything you put in. Candidates see the full picture before they apply — which means the people who do apply are actually a fit for what you're looking for.
The Applicant Experience
We thought carefully about the applicant side too. A bad application experience means good candidates drop off before they finish. The public job page is clean, mobile-friendly, and takes less than two minutes to complete. Applicants enter their information, attach their CV, and submit. That's it. No account creation, no signup wall, no friction.
For the candidate, it feels like applying to any professional job posting. For you, every submission is organized and waiting in your dashboard.
Why This Is Different From Job Boards
General job boards like Indeed or LinkedIn can work, but they come with real downsides for the beauty and trades industry:
- You get flooded with applicants who aren't industry-specific
- Applications come to your email, not your business software
- You often pay per application or per posting
- There's no connection to your actual business setup in Zivly
With Zivly's built-in jobs, applicants are finding you specifically — they clicked your link because you shared it where your actual audience is. The applications go directly into the same platform you already use every day. And it's included in your plan — no extra cost.
Available Now on All Plans
Job postings are live now and included on both the Solo and Team plans. You can create multiple active listings at once — useful if you're hiring for more than one role or have multiple locations.
